Cable wattage is a ceiling

The EnergyFort guide explains that a 240W USB-C cable can be used for lower-power compatible devices. A phone will negotiate the power it accepts, not automatically draw the cable's maximum.

What AVS changes

The source guide cites Apple's published iPhone 18 Pro charging condition requiring a USB-C cable rated at least 60W and an AVS-capable power adapter rated at least 60W. Wattage alone on a charger label does not establish AVS support.

Why a 240W cable can work

EnergyFort's PD3.1 EPR cable includes E-Marker functionality and comes in 0.6m, 1.2m, 1.8m and 2.8m lengths. The rating gives headroom for other compatible devices but does not mean iPhone 18 Pro consumes 240W.

Understand the three components

The power adapter advertises output profiles; the electronically marked cable communicates capacity; the phone determines supported input. A high-wattage cable cannot upgrade the charger or device.

Real charging speed varies

Battery level, charging temperature, active apps and device power management affect observed charging. Do not promise fixed watts or a fixed completion time from cable specifications alone.

How to choose a length

Short cables are convenient beside a power bank; a longer lead can be better at a desk or bedside. Avoid strain at device connectors and verify the selected product variant.

FAQ

Must the cable be exactly 60W? No, a higher-rated compatible cable can meet the cable-side requirement. Does 240W force more power? No. Does any 60W charger qualify? AVS behavior must be checked. Is E-Marker a charger? No. Does USB-A offer identical fast charging? Not necessarily. Does charge speed stay constant? No. Do temperature and battery state matter? Yes. Can one cable work across devices? With compatible connectors and modes.
